I Took a Gap Year
Creative PathI Took a Gap Year, Built a Small Business, Then Went to College
After high school I was burned out. Instead of going straight to college, I took a gap year and started a pressure-washing business with $800 and a used trailer.
By the end of the year I had saved $18,000. I then attended college part-time while continuing the business. I graduated in 4.5 years with zero student debt and a profitable company that still runs today.
The gap year gave me clarity, skills, and capital. I now advise every high school senior I meet to at least consider a gap year if they’re not 100% sure.
